Ever stood in the direct firing line of a guitar amp? If you have, you'll know it's LOUD and SHRILL! Often you'll see plexi glass screens in front of them to try and make them a little quieter, but of all the ones I've tried, I've found they affect the sound of the amp in a negative way so I've never stuck with them. That is, until now. Whilst in Austria last month I had the pleasure of meeting a bloke called HooVi, who brought along his specially designed "Deeflexx" system. It's basically a plexi glass baffle that goes in front of the amp, but specifically shaped and designed to keep the quality of sound and disperse it evenly whilst stopping the amp melting the faces of everyone in the front row ... Man, these things rock! They're so good I've got them as a permanent part of my set-up.
Guitarists - if you want to be able to actually hear your amp on stage AND stay friends with the sound engineer (and front row!) Invest in some of these! Check 'em out here. They're not cheap, but they're a great investment.
