This is a new radio station that started up in lockdown because there was nothing else going on in the Entertainment business.
Its based in the UAE in a place called Ras Al Khaimah, one of the 7 Emirates that make up the UAE, approx 1 hour north of Dubai.

It was initially a streaming Station, playing Blues, Rock, Southern Rock and a bit of Country, but bit by bit they are introducing DJs. I listen in 7am until 10am (UK time) 5 days a week (their weekend is Friday Saturday) to ‘Phil’.
They also like to play bands who can’t get regular airplay on other Stations without paying wads of cash. So on a daily basis, you will hear the likes of Rebecca Downes, Jack Hutchinson and Marcus Malone.
I did inform a few other ‘names’, inc the obvious, but don’t know if they responded.
Only a small audience, a very long way to catch up with Planet Rock but everyone starts somewhere.
They also want to start gigs and they are working on taking some artists over there for a gig or two.
Wishing them Luck

Have to admit,  when I was doing the data-entry and filing work, I found Aardvark FM an enjoyable mix of the classic and current, with very little chatter in-between; just a seeming shortage of Aynsley…

Back on the Aardvark - my speakers are melting to a track by Lucky Peterson - Nana Jarnell. Very much like Rory Buchanan.

Thanks for recommending Aardvark, it’s great, I’ve been working to it for 4 hours now and am still to notice the feeling of intense boredom that usually catches me at the second hour of working!
