Love is the Drug - no way Britbabe - you are getting silly now!!! - that song needs the Ferry vocal - can’t imagine anyone making a good cover of that one - anyway, enough if this folly - Aynsley needs to get cracking on writing some new material for the next album - lets forget about covers - is Soul the only track so far??? - perhaps Aynsley needs an appraisal and to be set some serious objectives..............

I may be wrong but I think Aynsley is recording just now, he said he would be recording during the summer when he was on tour, and his lack of gigs at the moment indicate that might be the case (or he could be sunning himself on a beach somewhere!). Suggesting covers is a bit of fun until we can get discussing gigs and hopefully the new album too :-)

I’d like to hear Aynsley do Led Zep’s “Dazed And Confused"… I heard him play the riff during another song a long time ago at Wilbarston Hall.

Prison of Love, as done by Robben Ford on the Live in San Fransisco album would be cool........its got that Disorderly Me, Soundman kind of vibe - and a great guitar solo in the middle - give it a listen if you haven’t already…

Out of interest are there anymore covers that Aynsley does on Messing With The Kid and Pay Attention other than Continental OP?

"Messin’ With The Kid” is all covers.  “Pay Attention” has three original tracks and six covers which are… 1) Dynamite, 2) I’m ready, 3) When My baby She Left Me, 4)Crossroads, 5) Take Me To The River and 6) Voodoo Chile.  For my money Aynsley’s version of Take Me To The River is the best live track ever recorded anywhere by anyone!

Quite by accident, I heard this song for the first time a couple of weeks ago surfing the web during yet another sleepless night - the name of the song is The Everlasting Love, by Arthur Lee, of the group Love. The guitarist playing with him on this song is Jimi Hendrix. Jimi’s playing is fantastic yet subdued and Arthur Lee’s singing is silky smooth. This is one great song imo and it would be very interesting hearing someone as talented as Aynsley playing it. The song can be found on Youtube under the name The Everlasting Love - a warning though, don’t watch the video (it sucks), just listen to the music. It can be found in disc form on the album The Blue Thumb Recordings by Love. I may try to get a copy of this to Ansley to see what he thinks.

Such a dumbass - The song title is The Everlasting First, not love. Sorry for the error.

Being that I’ve just spoken to the man about his new album, that the next gig I’m going to is in Scarborough and that the last gig I saw there was this band I’m about to suggest, this subject has been on my mind for the past couple of days.  I’ve been listening to Atomic Rooster and wallowing in nostalgia.  I think their song ‘Tomorrow Night’ would be great for Aynsley to cover.  Admittedly it would lack the keyboards, but I love the simple, bold drums and bass and there’s plenty of room for Aynsley to add his stamp with the solo at the end.

Got Tomorrow Night this morning and agree it has promise, but I think it’ll need some keyboards to do it justice. I wonder if Aynsley has considered adding a Keyboardist.A Hammond organ might flesh out his sound like it has for other Blues Artists.

Bravo Eldo! How about Love Removal Machine or Bleeding Heart Graffitti? A song from one of England’s greatest Rock Bands would certainly be a good choice for Aynsley.

Did some pondering on motivation on the drive home on Tuesday.  The guy wants to see outrageous suggestions here does he?  Well then . . . bearing in mind what he told me about how he came to decide on doing Purple Rain (he heard it on the radio and thought why not, so he says), then I got to thinking; what is currently all over the place, music wise?  Well, what’s the hot film at the moment?  I’m thinking are we going to get an Abba song, maybe???!!!!  He did say we’d be shocked! lmao LOL

What would be more interesting to know was whether the band played any new material - the new album is due out in Feb and one would assume that these gigs would be a test bed for some new stuff, not more covers - as for Abba, you must be joking!!
