My son’s band Stone Free were booked a while ago to be one of the supports for ‘Icelandic one-man noisemaker’ Mugison at the Carling Academy 2 last night. The gig was FANTASTIC. After an impressive half hour from my guys Mugison, by now a 5-piece rock band, gave us an hour of madness and hilarity that fair took my breath away.  Raw and rough yet tighter than the proverbial they were energetic and enthralling, even the ballads were full-on and in yer face and that’s the first time I’ve ever heard thrash metal played on an acoustic guitar!!  Blues heritage shone throughout, in just the way I like to hear it interpreted.  What a pity there were only about 40 there to see it, shame on us Newcastle.  Mugiboogie - buy it now (and play Two Thumb Sucking Son of a Boyo first!!)
