Actually, its quite interesting to see some of the favourable comments about Aynsley on the It Bites forum - http://www.itbites.com/forum

Thanks for the link Eldo.  Although most of the posts about Aynsley on the It Bites message board were positive, I found alot of whining on their Glasgow thread about ALB’s set length cutting into IB’s gig time.  Apparently there’s a 10PM curfew.  I’ve listened to It Bites’ music and those fans should be whining that It Bites is playing too long.

Hi Curby

I must admit I feel the same about IT Bites and although it’s early days yet I remain sceptical whether the strategy of touring with them works for Aynsley.

It Bites are a typical one hit wonder who have traded on that and have a residue of support from those days.

They’re pretty much unknown in the States.  I’ve always been a fan of good progrock, but IB sound way too poppy for my tastes.  An unusual partnership indeed, but Eldo’s right that their fans have, for the most part, been receptive to Aynsley.

Yeah - it looks to me that the It Bites fans clearly think Aynsley is the support artist and It Bites look to be getting the longer set - but as we guessed, most have never heard of him - lets hope most turn up in time to see him as opposed to just getting there in time to se It Bites - one guy said he caught Aynsley´s last song of his set and wished he´d seen the whole - say no more…........

Gulp! I’m afraid I was not there!  red face
Logistically it was going to be a problem, as you may have read on the It Bites forum, the gig started early (6pm) and I would have been pushing it to get there to see Aynsley and the band. From the Manchester show it looks like a good set list. I hope the tour goes well for Aynsley and he picks up a new collection of fans. It Bites are not really my cup of tea, but Aynsley has a quality which will attract fans of other styles and I’m certain that he will benefit from it.
If someone reading this was at the show (or any of the others), please sign up and give us some comments, we’d be happy to hear from you and your impressions. smile

New member and first posting
Only discovered Aynsley last year when he was supporting Lynyrd Skynyrd how glad am i that i was at that gig
Aynsley is an awesome talent

Was at the gig in Glasgow on Friday and the band were different class. They came on stage around 7.15 and played for an hour.Looking forward to there next show in Glasgow

Dont think he would have gained many new fans from It Bites as the majority didnt arrive till Aynsley had finished
Even after all these years i still cant work out It Bites.Saw them at the end of the 80s supporting Marillion.Talanted
musicians but not quite prog rock.

Hi, first time poster too.

I saw Aynsley at the Sage in Gateshead on Tuesday night so I thought I would add my review as a virgin Lister fan.

Location….mmmm very wrong for the sort of music played, unfortunately the stage was really small and a venue with majority seating just seemed to make me uncomfortable, not able to dance about, stand up and sing along or even take photos..bummer!

Band….Absolutely bloody brilliant, I was sat three rows from the front and beamed from first note to applause. I do not mind admitting having a surprising girl crush on Midus Terruta-Guerreiro, her spirit is mesmorising!!
Aynsleys guitar playing is awesome and the songs are beautiful.

All told, given the setting….an excellent night out….

My only criticism was that Aynsley came out in the interval to sign the albums….and eradicated all my admiration while rudely yawning and flippantly dismissing me after i had bought both albums following the performance…(now I get that the gig is tiring and I, now, understand that there was issues with the stage set up etc) but as someone who showed my appreciation for his performance very vocally and visually throughout the gig, I do not think I was asking too much for a bit of enthusiasm for the twenty mins he had to sit and sign autographs.

Good to hear you had some fun.
I’m not so sure whether the guys and gals on stage really recognize what’s happening in front of them. And Aynsley seems always to be in his own world when he’s playing. And my impression is that Aynsley is giving more than 100 percent on stage so he probably was low on battery.
