So do I….......... but not every day of the week thanks very much.
Sadly for me they play far too much of the screeching singer variety of “classic” Rock.
It all started with guys that actually believed they sounded like Robert Plant - although of course no-one actually got remotely close - then they all started copying the impersonators and fell into a downward spiral.

There’s another topic if anyone fancies it….........

Whether people on here listen to Planet Rock or not is irrelevant really, what is less relevant is that a lot of people who do listen to PR would discover and enjoy Aynsley if he was played on there. Five people emailling from this forum is not going to make a difference, yet if an email was sent to the two or three thousand on Aynsley’s mailing list encouraging them to do so it might just make a difference. Anyway that’s my suggestion, and while it guarantees nothing, I think it’s worth a try.

Duncan, I take your point entirely, 5 or 6 people e-mailing from this forum is not going to make one bit of a difference.
You mention in your post about Aynsley’s mailing list, and the two or three thousand people on it. I have received the odd e-mail form Alan, mainly about the live recording last year. Is that “the mailing list”, because I do not remember having the opportunity of joining a mailing list at any of Aynsley’s gigs, unlike at Oli’s last Monday. If it is, then there would seem to be a lack of communication. If there is another list, please can somebody tell me how I can join it because I cannot believe I am the only person on this forum who does not know.

Im not convinced that Planet Rock would do Aynsley any favours. Clearly everything helps but it’s a small audience made up of knowledgeable middle aged guitar-centric people who would probably have heard of Aynsley anyway? Plus if you look at the make up of Equilibrium I’d suggest a fair portion of it is too mellow for the station?

Radio 2, Absolute (ex Virgin) are surely better targets? Unchartered waters..

Having said that when Eldo and I had a chat at the Oli gig the other night to me there doesn’t appear to be a clear direction or plan for Aynsley and more importantly no one knows what Aynsley wants, he may be just fine where he is?

He or his management have no duty to us to share there inner most thoughts but if you want to engage with people it helps.

It’s funny really. Most of us want Aynsley to go on to bigger and better things as we appreciate how good he is. However the consequence is that we will not be able to enjoy his music as intimately as we can now. Maybe Aynsley likes that intimate setting and he certainly entertains and seems to get a great deal of enjoyment out of what he does.

Also there is that other factor, a little bit of luck is needed to get up to the next level and sometimes the cards don’t always fall the right way.

Getting on the BBC Breakfast show, like Davy Knowles did this morning, could help - how did he manage that???

Davey has some serious funding and backers behind him.

You gotta keep moving to stay still in this business, not completely sure if Aynsley is still is. If many of the loyal Aynsley fans decide not to see him on the next tour as they are seeing Oli and co instead, where does that leave him? Therefore it’s important to keep looking at new ways to gain a larger fanbase. Are It Bites fans really the target or was it just a good deal?

It bites will be attracting the 40 somethings. I think its a clever move, lets face you stick Ansley in front of pretty much any audience and he would be well received.
The truth is only the management know what the plans are, we can speculate and give our 10 cents but the chances are we are way off the mark. This business is not what it appears on the surface. I always smile as I get tons of advice at gigs about how to do this and that and what I am doing wrong!! The truth is there is no set route. You just stick your head down and charge at it all gund blazing.

Picking up what Eldo said about Davy Knowles, I may be naïve but is it really all about money?
To get noticed in any media you need and angle and push like hell.

Young, Manx, tragedy of the car crash, decided to risk it going to the states…. He hasn’t sung a note and it already sounds like a story worth telling.

I agree with Martin - the It Bites crowd have probably never heard of Aynsley, so are in for a treat - its a new audience for Aynsley, which is what they are after - re Davey Knowles, a lot of the business is about money - its a business - Davey has a lot of talent but may have had some good breaks over the last 12 months or so, supporting Chickenfoot for example - must have been massive crowds….if someone has decided to back him, great - it’s a gamble - that’s business too - they’ll soon pull the plug if he doesn’t produce the goods, specially in current market conditions…......

What great expectations we have for Aynsley.

I think it is fantastic, with a fair wind he really will do well.

yes it is all about money. I can get very wide coverage for our little EP in the the right magazines but you need to pay someone to do this for you. At the moment funds will not stretch. So we have to take pot luck at the moment.
With money you can get on any radio/tv station you like. The only other ways to do are with luck or being famous!
