Just like to echo what everybody else has said, great night. Agree with Lynne, I’m sure the sound would’ve been better a bit further back, but who wants to be further back??
Cliff, amazed that you still had the energy to post when you got home!
Hi folks, just got back to Scotland. Ys the gig was great, it was superb to meet so many of you, and from the other forum too. The sound was fine for me, and the band rocked. Would have been great to have a little surprise thrown in as well, but the set was great and some more fans were made that night for sure. So many highlights in the night really, but I think my fondest memory was us all dancing about to Hush near the end, that’s one sound that certainly benefits from keys…
Echo your sentiments Britbate that we try to have a forum reunion once a year and I think you’ll agree with me that somewhere a little further north would be a good place to start!
“Would have been great to have a little surprise thrown in as well” - what, like Eric Clapton turning up??? - Jon Amor was there so it was a shame he didn’t get invited to jam, but maybe next time - the “annual reunion” sounds like a good idea though….................you never know, Aynsley could be playing the RAH!!!!
My favourite moment of the night was that opening meaty riff for Big Sleep that nearly knocked all the breath right out of me - just as it should be! I also think as you, Duncan, that a little something out of the ordinary would’ve been the cherry on the cake but hey, it’s all good
If we do this get-together again (which I fervently hope we will) I would like to suggest we do as my friends on the Kenny Wayne Shepherd forum always did, and make it a 2-day event with some other sightseeing or social activities too, to give us more time to talk and get acquainted. I left yesterday with a powerful sense of not having spent enough time with anyone!

I thoroughly enjoyed Hush (nice to see it back) and Crosstown traffic too haven’t heard that live for ages.
Yet again Midus (nice to chat to you again after the gig) was having a great time, My daughter who drums said Simon was excellent and Morg did his thing too. It was a great all round performance oh and not forgetting Aynsley who was sensational yet again - my friend who had never seen Aynsley before was mightily impressed.
Sorry to put you on the spot (Aynsley) about Midus’ Surname!!! But it was one of those good moments that brings a nice dose of humour to the gig . Even better when Cliff asked you what Simon’s surname was!!
Great humour, excellent company, brilliant music, wonderful atmosphere and a pretty good length of set too.
Hey Cliff, would it ruin your street cred if I let slip that we talked about our kids on that walk back? Lol Thanks for your great company as my escort, I just knew we were birds of a feather lol. Setlist? Well perhaps I can help!

What can I say but Big Blues Daughter thought you were a hoot!!!! Though I’m not sure she was laughing with you!!!!:lol:
Cliff - you even out did my brother on the wiggling about front!!!
Thanks mate for the few words of wisdom, much appreciated, it was a pleasure to meet you. And yes, Tuesday night was brilliant, the gooners getting stuffed. Come on you Spurs.
Hey guys - back in front of the PC again after all that real (as opposed to virtual) fun.
Mrs Icon still refers to you all as my virtual friends, but I think she enjoyed meeting you all as much as I did.
Dingwalls was a truly memorable night, from the moment we turned up at the Iced Dwarf, to the tannoy announcement at Tottenham Court Road tube station informing us that “the station is now closed and there would be no more departures tonight” half way back to our hotel. And there was a pretty good outfit on stage too as I recall.
Spent a fair while browsing the messages on here and that other guy’s forum since I got home, and the memories are flooding back - what a fantastic couple of days.
I really need an early night now - too many late ones and a crap bed in the hotel - I’ll be back tomorrow with lots more comment.

Thanks for the setlist, the following day I was thinking through and I could not recall the band playing Times Up. Wonder why it dropped out. At the risk of becoming a bore I do think Aynsley should start his show earlier and play more songs. I do have to say that some of our American guests were surprised that at 8.25 even the support act had not appeared on the stage.
Many of Aynsley’s peers do play longer sets and Dingwalls would have been the perfect opportunity to do so. It was apparent there would be so many forum members in attendence and the significant numbers that we had brought with us must have amounted to more than a third of the crowd. Does anyone know the full attendence figure?
Sorry if these comment sounds downbeat, I did greatly enjoy both the set played and the occasion. As Cliff said I was walking around with a goofy smile on my face for the whole night! It was great to meet so many of you and I think the band rocked! Was great to hear Crosstown Traffic for the first time, and Forever sounded really good too, and I did like that funky Superstition interaction between Ayns and Morg! Also I caught a bus back to my hotel so I avoided the tube problems!:)
Late performances seem to be he norm now for the venues we frequent. I do find it alittle frustrating, especially ifthey want to get a younger crowd involved. I would love to take my daughter and a couple of friends to some gigs at the Robin but on week days it is too much too late for them.
There was one noticeable acception to this when Virgil (supporting) was made to go out very early. So early that there were hardly anyone in the audience. The main act still came out late. I wonder why you would want your support to go out when hardly any audience is there…..... Of course they took that as a major compliment

I agree - another few songs, on what was a special occasion would have been good, but there we are. It will also be interesting to hear Aynsley’s thoughts of the gig in his next blog. Or perhaps another posting on the forum from the “band”........great night though….....
