Hi Big Blue,
Glad to meet you!  Just curious, what’s the symbol you used before the 5.00?  Is that the Euro?  Pardon my ignorance.

£ = pound, € = Euro, I guess you don’t have them on a US keyboard. At the moment, it looks liked we’d be better off with the €, but that’s a whole debate outside of the scope of this forum.

I agree though that flights are worth looking into, we’ll be flying down that weekend! smile

Flights are a no-go, the earliest EasyJet available doesn’t get in til 6pm which is no use, and the cost would be well over £50 before taking into account the bus.  BMIBaby to Heathrow is more expensive and I’d have to get to Durham.  Flybe to Gatwick comes to £75 and that’s with a £5 fare.  BA is over £100.  Trains usually cost me £23 return, as long as they start at the usual price even tho it’s a bank hol I’ll be fine.  I’ll allow myself a little leeway, seeing as it’s a special occasion!  Is anyone else wondering how things are shaking down in Sutton right now?  LOL

This Dingwalls gig looks like it may be THE Aynsley concert for ‘09.  With the date so near Joe’s event, with blues lovers from all over in town, I’m thinking Aynsley will leave nothing back in his performance.  Not saying he doesn’t give his best every time, just saying he’ll want to make a statement to first time listeners.  Kinda reminds me of an old Battle of the Bands atmosphere.  If I lived within 500 miles of London I’d be there.

Hi Curby

I agree this will be the Aynsley gig of 09. Really sorry you can’t be here my gut tells me this will be Aynsley’s year - mind you I’ve said that a few times.

Does anyone know how we move this link back up the agenda, to ensure the Gig keeps visibility.

Regards

BB

PS Any idea if we should expect a gig at the Half Moon Putney and 100 Club in the later half of the year.

I’ve just booked my train ticket for the trip down so that’s my bridges burned!  I hope the tickets back aren’t stupid money when they’re released.  I think we should do what we discussed on the forum once before, and have some identifying badge or hat or something for those of us who post here to wear, for easy identification purposes.  A bit nearer the date, why don’t we start a list of who’s definitely going to be there, so we can arrange to get together?

Getting quite excited now!

Good Idea Britbabe

We could all just wear the Balls of Steel T-shirt.  Red carnations might wither!!!

Will none forum members have the T-shirt?

In case you didn’t know Already I’ll be there.

Phil (Wooders) is working on identification badges for the Joe fans attending the RAH, so I’ve made a suggestion that he does some for Aynsley’s gig too.

Hi BB.  The problem with the t-shirt (apart from the fact I wouldn’t ever be seen in public in a tshirt!) is that there’ll be other fans there with them too, I’d imagine. It’s not an exclusivity thing - it’s just that we’ve become somewhat acquainted on this forum and it’d be nice to easily see who’s been a regular here.  I’m thinking now that maybe an armband would be a good idea???!!! LOL.  Either that or we could all have a red rose between our teeth  tongue rolleye

How bout a cammo headband a la Rambo?  I’d pay good money to see that on my Britbabe!  The heck with those I Know Jack t-shirts.

Hey Britbabe

I’ve I’d already given up on the T-Shirt. :-(

Just that to get co-ordinated even with a Rambo style Headband (Thanks Curby) does have an element of randomness - a non forum member may have whatever we choose as our emblem in any event.

Perhaps the best idea is to pick a venue (bar) near by and use that as a forum meeting place, earlier in the day.

It’s actually been a while since I went to Dingwalls - so I’m not all that familiar with good places to meet. Also I have the added complication that I’m going with my brother and a friend (this will be his first AL gig) neither of whom are forum members.

Perhaps another idea would be to have ALB written in a dark pen on the back of our left hands (simple to do) and easy to spot - but only if you are looking out for it. cool smile

If we want to be really stupid we can write it on our foreheads (assuming no one has a permanent Tattoo there). Then it would be obvious which of us are mad AL supporters.

That was going to be my next suggestion.  I’ll have my not-quite-15-year-old daughter with me too, so hopefully somewhere that she’ll have no problem getting in.

A Rambo-style headband, hmmm . . . now then, if we’d all like to wear deeley-boppers, I can supply us all!!! LMAO, how about I make some with his photo on one side and the logo on the other??  And bells???!!!  At least he can see now that I’m not the only nutjob he knows LOL
