I’d like to tell you that I have today heard from Aynsley’s manager Alan Robinson that Aynsley will be playing at the live venue Dingwalls in London on Sunday 3rd May 2009.
This date is significant as not only is it the bank holiday weekend, but it is also the day before Joe Bonamassa plays the Royal Albert Hall. Naturally Joe’s sold out concert has attracted a lot of attention and a large number of his fans are due to travel from rest of the UK, Europe and the USA to be in London that weekend. I suggested to Alan that it may be worthwhile for Aynsley to stage a concert that weekend, and he has done the work to make this happen in a prestigious venue which is perhaps larger than the average venue that Aynsley would play at in London.
Tickets will go on sale in the new year. I hope to see you there
You bet, Duncan. This is massive news and I’m sure it will be a sellout.
I really think this could be a BIG event for Aynsley and something he richly deserves as there will be many blues rock fans in London who will come along not knowing much about Aynsley but will leave as converts to the cause. In fact, if they are like me the first time I saw Aynsley (I had no idea who he was at the time) they’ll be blown away.
Well done for your efforts, that must be worth a front row seat.
Dingwalls is a great idea, but,I can’t help but think that Aynsley should be supporting JB at the Albert hall.
It will obviously be a gathering of a who’s who of well know blues artists (and other industry appendages)and it’s a shame Aynsley can’t mix it with the big boys!!
By the way, having looked at the gig listings for 2009, nothing in Bristol….Shurely shome mistake????
You need to resgister first but they accept payment by credit card/visa
wegottickets does not issue tickets, which is probably how they can offer such competitive pricing. If you’d rather have physical tickets you can book through ticketweb for £12.00 plus booking fee of £1.50 per ticket plus £1.85 postage. Tickets to be sent asap, but not later than 7 days before event. You can also call them on 08700 600100, but they charge £1.90 per ticket for a phone booking.
Thanks for the information! Its looking like this will be our forum meeting.
This bank holiday is set to be a classic weekend of classic music, Gary Moore on the Saturday, Aysnely on the Sunday and Joe Bonamassa and Scott McKeon on the Monday!
I agree I’d have loved to have seen Aynsley at the RAH, lets hope one day he can do it himself under his own stream!
Thanks for the info, tho it’s looking doubtful I can make it now. Very strange that the venue still don’t have the gig listed tho, makes no sense to me.

As strange as Aynsley not listing it on his own web page! You’ve seen it on the links above and on the lastest Aynsley update so you know it is due to happen. I expect it will be on Dingwalls site before too long not that tickets have been released. Hope you can make it
Hi It is now listed on both Aynsley’s and the Dingwalls site
BB
That’s good news, I just bought my tickets half an hour ago at ticketweb as per Phil’s link! Should be a good one, there are a quite a few Joe Bonamassa fans from overseas who are planning to see Aynsley at this gig for the first time, including a number of Americans. It could be good promotion before Aynsley’s planned gigs in the US.
This Dingwalls gig looks like it may be THE Aynsley concert for ‘09. With the date so near Joe’s event, with blues lovers from all over in town, I’m thinking Aynsley will leave nothing back in his performance. Not saying he doesn’t give his best every time, just saying he’ll want to make a statement to first time listeners. Kinda reminds me of an old Battle of the Bands atmosphere. If I lived within 500 miles of London I’d be there.
If I win the lottery in time you’ll be there too, Curby. I’ve managed (finally) to get the Monday off work and I’ve got the hotel sorted and a friend lined up to bring for their first experience of the Lister phenomenon, all I need now are rail tickets under forty quid so keep your fingers crossed folks!

Hi Britbabe
You might find it cheaper and quicker to fly to Stanstead/luton - followed by a short train journey.
