Still lost in Triggerfinger, What Grabs Ya (well that does, obviously!) - raw.  Best gig of the year so far last night in my boys followed by Mugison.  Got a feeling the album Mugiboogie, will feature heavily in the near future - raw and mad!  Perennial in-car favourite, Melissa Etheridge’s eponymous offering (better and better with every hearing)- restrained, and also currently overdosing on Gary Moore’s Scars.  Most erotic song ever written on that album.  Suit Aynsley perfectly, so it would . . . . .

Lovestrats,
You might want to check out Jimmy LaFave if you like Ryan Adams. I like his albums Cimarron Manifesto and Blue Nightfall. Listen to the songs Gotta Ramble and Hideaway Girl.
Ruthie Foster - If somehow Otis Redding and Bonnie Raitt popped a kid, Ruthie would be it! Her music is blues/folk/soul with a tinge of gospel done at high level. Love Oh!Susannah, Another Rain Song and Runaway Soul.
Ryan Shaw - Do the 45 ---- If you like to dance this is the song! Wish Aynsley and the band could rework this song and add it into their repertoire.
Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges - Baby Your Love is a great little song.

Three 2008 albums I’m listening to at the moment are:

Sean Costello - We Can Get Together. Sadly Sean is no longer with us, but this is a very fine album of soulful blues rock. Sean was an extremely competant guitar player who was never too flashy, the guitar needed to fit the song. 9 of the 11 songs on the album were self penned and they include some great rocking blues like Anytime You Want and Hard Luck Woman, soulful ballads like Can’t Let Go and Have You No Shame, erie slide guitar on Little Bird and gospel influences on the sadly prophetic Going Home. Think Ian Siegal mixed with James Hunter and add a little funk and gruffer vocals. My album of the year so far.

Also
Oli Brown - Open Road

The Black Keys - Attack & Release

I’ve also heard the new Walter Trout album The Outsider is meant to be great. Its on my shopping list

I love the Black Keys - I can’t believe my bad luck that their appearance in my hometown is the same day as Aynsley plays here on his flipping birthday mad  Maybe I’ll have to blow him out!!

Hmm, having done some research, I reckon that is 14th November, Black Keys play the Newcastle Academy, Aynsley plays the Cluny. Well you can’t blow our Ayns on his birthday! You should head up to Edinburgh on 16th to see the Black Keys at the Queens Hall (its a nice venue too)

I may need to consider that gig myself. It would be great to see Aynsley do a full set. I will see him the following weekend at Carlisle though.

Spoons - Thanks for the Coldplay mention. I had bought the title track and then forgot about them until you jogged my memory. An unbelieveable album that really grows with each listen.
