The last few months have been crazy – from the Blues Caravan tours, to the most recent lineup change and all in between! First off, the first tours with the ‘Caravan’ have been immense fun….11 of us altogether travelling around in a luxury nightliner. Now this really could be a recipe for… well… whatever really… but as soon as we all boarded the bus, it all went swimmingly! Everyone involved got on great and the inevitable late night ‘blues parties’ at the back of the bus saw some unforgettable moments. The next couple of months will see us all jetting off to the US for some fantastic festivals and the another tour in Novemeber to finish things off.
Well, again the time has come for a full lineup change. As many of you will know, Sarah left to join a new band ‘New Young Pony Club’, After playing in the band for over two years, Sarah fancied trying something different and so left at the end of April. It’s all going very well and they have some great gigs lined up. Last month also saw James play his last tour too!! With his studio getting more and more busy, he has decided it’s also time for a change and has decided to leave after four years to put his time and energy into ‘Rain Studios’ in Nottingham.
So the new lineup? Well, on drums we have Richard Spooner or ‘Doc Spoons’ as he is affectionately known in the business!! Rich has played with plenty of names and been on pretty much every television channel – from ‘Top Of The Pops’ to session work with plenty of Pop acts (I promised I wouldn’t mention any names due to the potential coolness factor!!) A true nutter behind a drum kit and top bloke away from it, Rich has taken over full time from Sarah. Rich joined at the start of last month and has settled in very well. On bass, James’ roll is being taken over by the lovely Jo Nichols who will play her first show next month! I’m not gonna say anything else about Jo – I’ll keep you all guessing!!!!! As soon as we can, we’ll get up some stuff on the Biog page… but until then… you’ll have to wait and see!
So right now, I’m gonna sign off and write some new songs!!. The next album is due to be recorded this year so I gotta get my head down…. see you all soon!!!!
